I am a rustic wedding photographer in California, and I had the absolute pleasure of capturing Jodie and Chris Niece’s wedding day This wedding was an event that perfectly reflected their love and rustic style.
The Ceremony
Their celebration took place on a private estate in Redwood Valley, where a charming barn sat tucked among rolling vineyards. As guests arrived, they were welcomed by the quiet beauty of a working cattle ranch, which immediately set the tone for an unforgettable day. One of the most magical moments was Jodie’s entrance. The bride arrived with her father in a horse-drawn carriage pulled by beautiful draft horses—a true fairytale scene with a rustic country twist. The ceremony overlooked sweeping vineyards and soft, rolling hills, while dramatic clouds moved across the sky, adding depth and emotion to every view. We were fortunate to complete all family, bridal party, and romantic portraits right after the ceremony—just before the skies opened up and rain poured down. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect.
Special Details
Jodie’s gown was stunning, featuring a long vintage-inspired train and delicate button detailing down the back that added a timeless, romantic touch. One of my favorite details was her custom-designed shoes, created by a talented leather artisan friend.
As a horse owner myself, I always find a special joy in incorporating horses into a wedding day, and this celebration was no exception. Their bridal party brought so much energy and personality, making for plenty of fun, candid moments throughout the day.
