Naomi and Ben were truly a couple to remember. This Northern California engagement session was beautifully inspired by The Notebook, bringing timeless romance to life in the most authentic way. They arrived dressed in stunning 1940s attire—effortlessly embodying that classic vintage pin-up look that made every moment feel like a scene from the film.
One of our biggest goals was to recreate the iconic swan-filled water scene with a canoe—arguably one of the most romantic moments from the movie. Without a canoe of their own, I reached out locally and was able to borrow one. We even improvised a second seat to make it work, and in the end, it came together perfectly.
Photographing Naomi and Ben was such a joy. Their chemistry, playfulness, and commitment to the vision made this session not only creatively fulfilling but genuinely unforgettable.
Kelseyville, Lake County: The Perfect Old-Town Backdrop
To complete their session, we headed to the quaint town of Kelseyville in Lake County. Its charming, old-town feel and historic character perfectly complemented the vintage aesthetic we were going for. From quiet streets to timeless storefronts, every corner added depth and authenticity to their Notebook-inspired story.
